ETECHS Start Up
Leader: Brian Wheeler
What: Currently, there is no high school in Northern Nevada where a student can nurture an entrepreneurial identity and develop entrepreneurial capacities. ETECHS----The Entrepreneurial Technical and Engineering Charter High School--- is a proposed Charter High School that would fruitfully address this need. The project-based curriculum of ETECHS involves an interaction of entrepreneurship, engineering, science, medicine and technology. This career oriented, project-based model was chosen because of its documented success, inspiring students to develop deeper knowledge by challenging their inventive minds and entrepreneurial spirits. Presently, ETECHS has obtained its charter from the State of Nevada, and an excellent building has been found in a very good location. Having cleared these two significant hurdles, a remaining hurdle is to raise startup funds necessary to secure a building and finance other start up costs. This project seeks to establish ETECHS--- The Entrepreneurial Technical and Engineering Charter High School---, so there will be a high school in Northern Nevada where a student can nurture an entrepreneurial identity and develop entrepreneurial capacities.

Multiple fundraisers will be developed and executed by March 1, 2011.
When: The advisory board will be constructed by August 31, and nonprofit status will be obtained by December 1. The fundraising goals will be met by March1, 2011.
Metrics: Success will be measured by meeting the board formation goal deadline of August 31, the non-profit status by December 31, and the fundraising goal deadline of March 1.
